Me and my 2 sisters took our one and only niece to McDonald's one fine afternoon since she wanted ayam for quite sometime already.
The kid has grown up so much and she's not even 3 years old yet. Considering that she was born 2 months premature, I think she's doing just fine.

Leisure Commerce Square, Petaling Jaya a.k.a Bali

This place is known as "Bali", having received its name from the now-defunct Bali nightclub or something. The outdoor Bali-themed decorations are still intact however, and is a perfect sight for amateur shutterbugs. Finally managed to catch a few pictures despite the busy hours. Come to think of it, I should go to Bali itself and take pictures there one day.

Hopefully it will be a blast in Bali. No pun intended.

Staring at the sun

Summer stretching on the grass... summer dresses pass
In the shade of a willow tree creeps a crawling over me
Over me and over you stuck together with God's glue
It's going to get stickier too...
It's been a long hot summer
let's go undercover
Don't try too hard to think... don't think at all

I'm not the only one starin' at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find if you took a look inside
Not just deaf and dumb i'm staring at the sun
Not the only one who's happy to go blind

There's an insect in your ear if you scratch it won't disappear
It's gonna itch and burn and sting
Do you want to see what the scratching brings
Waves that leave me out of reach
Breaking on your back like a beach...
Will we ever live in peace?
Cause those that can't do often have to
Those that can't do often have to... preach

To the ones staring at the sun...
Afraid of what you'll find if you took a look inside
Not just deaf and dumb... staring at the sun
I'm not the only one who'd rather go blind

Intransigence is all around... military is still in town
Armour plated suits and ties... daddy just won't say goodbye
Referee won't blow the whistle God is good but will HE listen
I'm nearly great
But there's something I'm missing I left in the duty free
Though you never really belonged to me

You're not the only one staring at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find if you stepped back inside
I'm not sucking my thumb I'm staring at the sun
Not the only one who's happy to go blind

Grading at Honbu Dojo

15 Jan marks as a historical day for TSKA as the first grading was conducted under its banner.
We also had our first senior training on the same day. Shihan George taught us Sanseru kata. Sanseru is a pretty short and simple kata, but it requires you to be adept at executing Gedan Sokuto-geri (lower side kick). That is one complicated kick to do in the first place. Most of the senior karate-kas who'd just acquired their brown belts had had a hard time executing the kick. The ended up doing some foreign looking kick; akin to a mule kick. Ah well, practice makes perfect. Especially in perfecting your kata.

As for the pictures, I only managed to capture the grading. I can't exactly take pictures during the training, can I? :P

My lucky day

Looking at the wreck from the photos and the contrasting title, some people would wonder why. It is easy to deduce. It's simply because I survived the accident unscathed without spilling any brain matter on the road (Allah forbid). Sure the ego did dripped a bit on the asphalt but I won't miss a drop or two haha. The vehicle veered to the sideways, went up the shoulder, flipped over, rolled, and landed back on its 4 wheels. Sure as hell looked like a jumbo in a circus... cute sight but nasty. I admit to driving while sleepy. Guilty as charged.

I have read in the news on many accidents involving 4-wheelers flipping over and most of the passengers kicked the bucket on the spot. Yet, I survived. I don't want to sound so dramatic about it; shit happens. But I admit to being shaken for about a month before regaining my composure to drive again haha. To all drivers out there, make sure you WEAR YOUR SEATBELT. The seatbelt was the (natural) reason that I was not thrown out of the vehicle. There could be supernatural reason but I cannot attest to that since there's no tangible proof.

All in all, it was a lesson for me. That we humans can work our neck off our whole life, and yet all that can go down the drain due to our own negligence.
